The City of New Orleans Officially Recognizes NICU Awareness Month

On September 5, 2019, the New Orleans City Council issued a resolution in honor of Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness (NIA) Month. NIA Month is designed to honor families experiencing a stay in the NICU and the health professionals who care for them. Speakers included Saul's Light Executive Director Kimberly Novod, Neonatologists Dr. Juan Gershanik and Dr. Brian Barkemeyer, NICU Social worker Tasha Johnson, Professor Emily Harville, and Service Line Administrator for LCMC Health Benjamin Price.

The Council also issued a proclamation recognizing Kimberly Novod's work on behalf of NICU and bereaved families.
