Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator will undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. The coordinator will help plan and organize programs and activities and carry out important community relations work. Assignments are expected to be carried out in person and remotely. Only candidates with sound judgment, time management skills, and internal motivation should apply. Work is assigned and supervised by the Director of Operations and the Executive Director.

Given the nature of non-profit work, the candidate must have a passion for public sector service and community engagement. An ideal candidate will want to gain experience in administration, grant writing, community and economic development, and research of health disparities related to maternal, child, and mental health. This job description is a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

● Communicating with NICU & bereaved families; identifying financial assistance needs, mental health support, and other community resource referrals

● Detailed tracking of family needs through spreadsheets and Airtable; clear and consistent communication with supervisors of all needs related to families

● Managing long-term relationships with NICU and bereaved families; coordinating and inviting them to all community events and identifying potential peer mentors

● Organizing gatherings or additional celebrations for peer mentors and volunteers

● Attending all virtual and in-person meetings with the Saul’s Light Team or community partners to address the needs of NICU & bereaved families

● Representing Saul’s Light at community events and providing sufficient documentation

for social media

● Coordinating quarterly book drop-offs & in-service days with hospitals and ensuring quarterly meetings are on the calendar

● Trained in operating the Saul’s Light Milk Mobile; assisting with milk & pump pickups and drop-offs as needed

● Supporting Saul’s Light events with preparation, in-person attendance, and follow-up

● Performs other related duties as assigned

Education

● Required - Bachelor’s Degree (BA); Preferred - Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field

Qualifications:

● Proven experience (2+ years) in program administration

● Proficiency in Google Suites and Microsoft Office, including the use of Word, Excel and Outlook.

● Knowledge of program management, development, implementation, and evaluation procedures

● Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting

● Excellent time-management and organizational skills

● Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

● Detail-oriented and efficient

● Experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred
